The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering companies for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed in regards to the high amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is SRD a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The service stage designed for intervention ordeals a high inflow of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for your Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more methods to allow the servicing of all shoppers and boost usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
